Transfer America warns travelers to be alert these days. Surprisingly, it doesn’t take much for someone to be declared a security threat nowadays. An article found on MSNBC, reveals how a woman was escorted off a plane for simply taking a picture of an employee’s name tag.
Sandy DeWitt, a Miami photographer, was on a flight from Philadelphia when she was roughly removed for using her iPhone to snap a picture of an employee being rude to a fellow passenger. DeWitt had taken the photo simply because she wished to complain to a manger about the employee’s behavior.
Tonialla G, the rude employee, asked DeWitt to delete the photo once everyone was seated. Though Dewitt was reluctant to abide with the Tonialla’s request, she did so anyways. However, that confrontation was not the end of Tonialla’s abuse. She then proceeded to tell the pilot in the cockpit that DeWitt was a security risk which resulted in DeWitt being escorted off the plane by two other flight attendants.
A spokesman for US Airways stated that “DeWitt was removed for being “disruptive. Once onboard, she was using foul and explicit language. She was removed at the request of the captain.”
However, Todd Lehmacher, the spokesman, was unable to prove or confirm whether DeWitt was asked to delete a photo off her phone or what she said specifically that led to her being removed from the plane.
