Spirit Airlines has promoted with celebrities such as Tiger Woods and Anthony Weiner. However, they have captured the new Knicks superstar, Jeremy Lin. This airline is known for “using pop culture headlines as inspiration for offbeat-and at times off-color- fare promotions is jumping on the basketball bandwagon”. This hot new basketball star is adored by the world and has captured the attention of the men and women of all ages.

The new advertisement urges travelers to purchase the “Linsanely low fares. Just in the Knick of Time”. The promotion is attracting fans all over the world to “book now with slam dunk fares that will put your bench-warming days behind you”.

A spokesperson from Farecompare.com stated, “”I will have to admit Spirit really plays to their crowd — similar to Ryanair in Europe — they sort of remind me of watching an episode of ‘Benny Hill’ — nothing is off limits.”

The CEO of CheapAir.com also commented, “Their ad campaigns may be provocative and, some would say, offensive. But most of the time their fares really are substantially lower than the other carriers. But they are also much more aggressive in charging fees. So if you’re thinking about Spirit, it’s important to look at the ‘optional fees’ page on their website and know in advance the full price you will actually end up paying.”

These new low fares might be something to look into, especially if you are head over heels with Jeremy Lin. Transfer America can also help timeshare owners escape from their timeshares so that they can travel the country and follow their favorite basketball star.

A man was recently wanted for stealing a Rolex watch from the security checkpoint this past weekend. According to authorities, the man was arrested at his home Friday morning. Apparently, he had answered the door wearing the missing $6,500 watch on his wrist. The 37-year-old man was later identified as Igor Adrian Ramos.

Gloria de Regalado had placed her watch along with her other belongings in the bin to get though security checkpoint. However, when she gathered her belongings she noticed that her watch was missing and went back to the security checkpoint to report her missing item. When authorities reviewed the security video, they witnessed a man behind Regalado “collect his belongings before quickly picking up the watch out of the bin and walking away from the checkpoint”.

Security was unable to find Ramos in the terminal but continued to search for him through the surveillance video. They were able to narrow down the options, which led to the discovery of Ramos boarding a plane to New York. According to officials, Ramos was constantly traveling between New York and Florida selling and buying cars. With his busy schedule he was unaware that there was a video of him stealing the Rolex on the news.

Ramos has been arrested and charged with grand theft. Regalado is happy that she will be getting her watch back and that the person responsible was arrested.

Since the majority of the world relies on the internet to provide information it has become easy for scammers place false advertisements.
These companies have created well thought out strategies in order to seem trustworthy and sincere. The way they operate is by contact timeshare owners and directing them to their sites and blog.
The executive vice president, Michael Crye, stated “There are various means of delivering passenger safety instructions and abandon ship instructions, but we believe … the existing international requirement that we provide this instruction within 24 hours can be bettered by doing it immediately upon (passenger) boarding.”

CLIA, which is the ‘largest cruise industry in North America’, the European Cruise Council and the UK Passenger Shipping Association have all adopted the new policy. Drills must be issued within 24 hours after leaving the port and those who miss the drills will have individual or small group briefings.

Transfer America hopes that all travelers remain safe and educated on all safety instructions.

As state governments are starting to fight back against timeshare scams, four employees of a timeshare resale company have been arrested and are now facing federal charges. The telemarketers in question are Eric Friedman, Alvaro Rodriguez, Hernando Osorio and Joseph Ackermann. The company was called Timeshare Mega Media and Marketing Group. In total there have been nineteen employees who are facing charges of conspiring to defraud customers. Many of these criminals have already taken plea deals and have been sentenced to finish five to thirty-three months in jail.

Timeshare Mega Media scammed many timeshare owners into believing that they would be free of their timeshare. This company has taken about $5 million from consumers in a year. According to prosecutors, telemarketers convinced the sellers that there was a buyer waiting to purchase their timeshare but they had to pay a $10,000 administrative fee. However, once the money was paid, the company disappeared with the money and the buyer was nowhere to be found.

To truly get rid of a timeshare, sellers need to contact Transfer America. This company guarantees in writing to help you out of your timeshare and they have already helped thousands of others.

A woman claims that the Transportation Security Administration refused to let her be screened because she was a woman. This incident happened on January 29th and a trip that was supposed to take a hour and twenty minutes turned into a six hour drive.

The woman, Jennifer Winning, was on her way to Denver when she was informed that she could not pass the security check point because all the female agents were off duty and that the checkpoint had been closed. Since all the female agents were off duty there would be no one available to perform a pat-down if needed. Even after Winning stated that she would sign a waiver stating that a male security guard could perform the pat-down, TSA still refused to let her pass. Therefore, instead of flying, Winning had to rent a car and drive 350-miles to her destination.

When asked to comment, a United spokesman stated, “the airline’s policy at the Rock Springs airport is that domestic customers must have completed their check-in process at least 30 minutes before a flight and be at the gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure. This customer did not attempt to begin the screening process until 27 minutes before the flight.”

The TSA statement also stated, “Once TSA is informed by the airline that our screening services are no longer needed, the security checkpoint is closed. In this instance, SkyWest made final boarding announcements and notified TSA that no additional passengers would be accepted.”

TSA stated that Winning wanted TSA to reopen the security checkpoint after it was closed but it was not allowed.

Many are upset about airlines charging extra for customers who need extra legroom. Malcolm Johnson, a six foot seven inch man, is angered by the fact that he has to pay extra for more legroom. He believes that tall travelers should be given the extra legroom without the added costs. Johnson has already filed a complaint to the Canadian Transportation Agency but was rejected because “he didn’t fully qualify as a disabled person with a special condition”.

Johnson commented, “”It’s a penalty for tall people … to pay for those seats — they’re the only seats on the craft that we can fit into.”

In the past, Johnson was able to get a comfortable seat to fit his tall frame. However, everything changed when the airlines became greedy and implemented the fee two years ago. Air Canada charges about $50 for extra legroom on each flight and the route from Edmonton to France always has a layover. Therefore, in order for Johnson to get the extra room he needs he would have to pay $200 extra for the trip.

Johnson is concerned with deep vein thrombosis, which is a “potentially deadly condition that can develop when people sit still for a long time.” When Johnson is seated on the plane, he knee hits the chair in front of him because of his tall frame. He believes that people with a doctor’s note, which verifies their height and the need for extra room, should not have to pay extra for the much needed space.
